Mysore Resettlement and Development Agency

MYRADA is an NGO that aims to assist the promotion of sustainable development and micro-credit initiatives in Southern India. It aims to foster a process of ongoing change in favour of the rural poor through the building and management of appropriate, and innovative, local-level institutions that are rooted in values of justice, gender equality, sustainability, equity and mutual support. Currently, it is managing rural development programmes in three States of South India and providing on-going support (including deputations of staff) to programmes in six other States. It also promotes the Self Help Affinity strategy in Cambodia, Myanmar and Bangladesh. Its emphasis is more on the building of appropriate institutions rather than on the delivery of goods, per se. Currently in India, 3547 self-help groups are partners of Myrada.  -  English (en)
