The ALIDE 2020 General Assembly will take place as a virtual meeting in the form of a series of digital events on the topic:
Building sustainable and resilient responses to the Covid-19 crisis –Latin America & the
The series of digital events is being organized jointly by ALIDE, IDFC, IDB, and BDMG with the collaboration of AFD and will constitute a Latin American and Caribbean contribution toward the Finance in Common Summit (IDFC, Paris, November 10-12, 2020).
The impact of COVID-19 on the economic and social sectors in the LAC countries is posing major challenges to our Development Financing Institutions (DFIs). Over the coming months, the region will have to face a transition from the most acute phases of the pandemic to the implementation of strategies that will heavily influence the formation of its next economic cycle.
In this context, discussions will focus, on the one hand, on the short-term financial response to the crisis by identifying policies and instruments to support the production and entrepreneurial structure; and on the other, on the role of DFIs in furthering sustainable and inclusive medium- and long-term economic recovery, in line with global climate agendas and the Sustainable Development Goals. These subjects will be analyzed by prestigious speakers and a high-level panel.
During the virtual Session on Institutional Matters, Members will learn about the following matters concerning the progress of the Association: the Annual Report and Financial Statements for 2019; the 2020-2021 Work Program and Budget; Extension of the Executive Committee Mandate; Specification of the next venue for the Regular General Assembly and, the Presentation of the winners of the ALIDE Prizes for Good Practices in Development Banking.
